				BEČEJ The city is situated on the east of Backa on the right side of the River Tisa. Here summers are very pleasant and winters are greatly sharp. In the city there is an iodine resort, which was built in 1904. Its water temperature is about 30 C. On the base of the material, which were found we know that this area was inhabited from the V millennium BC. First written mention of Becej is dated since 1091.
